Taylor Swift breaks a record held by Spider-Man: No Way Home

A start worthy of a blockbuster promises to be the retransmission of The Eras Tour in cinemas.

So far, in terms of pre-sales in American theaters, no one had done better than Spider-Man: No Way Home. Nearly two years later, the Holland-Garfield-Maguire trio could do nothing against The Eras Tour : the retransmission of the tour of Taylor Swift is now in first position.

It only took 24 hours for the singer to reach $26 million in profits with pre-ordered tickets for the premiere, which will take place on October 13 in AMC theaters. No way home, he had collected $16.9 million at this point. Note that AMC is not the only distributor to program the retransmission.

The approach of The Eras Tour overshadows other releases in the United States, to the point that The Exorcist: Devotion was pushed back. David Gordon Green’s film was supposed to be released the same day, and was defeated before it even saw the light of day. “Look what you made me do,” joked producer Jason Blum on Twitter, adding “#Taylorwon”. It will therefore be broadcast on October 6 in the United States. In France, its release is scheduled for October 11.

According to Variety, The Eras Tour is expected to get off to a blockbuster start, grossing around $100 million in its first weekend.

In France, no release date has yet been revealed.
