That Post-Credit Barbie Scene You Haven’t Seen

This bonus cameo that was cut in the edit.

We could have had one more surprise cameo in Barbie ! A post-credits scene was deleted by Greta Gerwig at the last moment and it has resurfaced online today (or almost).

Indeed, there is no post-credits scene in the version of Barbie screened in theaters, but in an interview with the specialized site The Art of the Cut conversation, the editor of BarbieNick Houy, discusses the film’s editing and shows a cork board with each scene in the film on it, to help with the editing.

If you look closely at the bottom right, you can see a sequence called “Midge in Labor”. A sequence that we have not seen and which would have staged Midge (Emerald Fennell)… giving birth. Getting a little closer, we can see Helen Mirren in the scene in question! The Oscar-winning star would have made a physical appearance in Greta Gerwig’s feature film.

But the scene in question was cut and Hellen Mirren remains behind the curtain, doing the voice of the narrator in Barbie…

With or without Hellen MirrenBarbie is a hit in cinemas and is already approaching a billion dollars in worldwide revenue.
