The Boy and the Heron flies away ahead of 3 Days Max at the French box office

Killers of the Flower Moon has crossed the million admissions mark.

The return ofHayao Miyazaki is a success! Building on its fantastic first day (more than 200,000 spectators), The Boy and the Heron dominates the weekly box office with 620,000 admissions (700,000 previews included), by far the best start for a film by the Japanese master in France, ahead of Spirited away (311,000 tickets sold in 2002), which ended its career at 1.4 million. A score that the animated film should logically beat within a few weeks.

Another octogenarian filmmaker seduces the French public. It is of course Martin Scorsesewhose latest film, Killers of the Flower Moon, again attracted 267,000 spectators in the third week and took 5th place in the ranking, totaling more than 1 million admissions. It already exceeds The Freedmen (977,000 admissions) and becomes the 12th Scorsese film to cross this threshold in France.

Behind The Boy and the Heronwe find 3 Days MaxFollowing 30 Days Max which does better than the first film (admittedly released in the post-Covid period) with a cumulative 1.4 million tickets sold. It is followed by two animated films which took full advantage of the All Saints’ Day holidays: Paw Patrol 2 (2.1 million entries) and Trolls 3 (1.2 million).

Beyond the top 5, Albert Dupontel disappoints with its Second Round, which totals 729,000 tickets after two weeks. His previous three films (Goodbye idiots, Goodbye up there And 9 months firm) had all been around 2 million. A performance that the actor-director will undoubtedly have difficulty repeating.

Toledano and Nakache are also below their standards with A difficult year (806,000 entries in three weeks), while the phenomenon The consentdriven by an improbable TikTok buzz, continues: the film has passed the 400,000 spectator mark, with a drop of only 6% compared to the previous week.

Finally, outside the top 10 we note that The Animal Kingdom quietly heading towards the million mark. Thomas Cailley’s film attracted 115,000 curious people for a total of 950,000 tickets sold.
