The director of Andor is preparing a new Star Trek film that will go back to the origins

An “origin story” which does not call into question the sequel Star Trek 4 with Chris Pine, still in preparation to complete the saga made by JJ Abrams.

We continue to focus on Star Trek at Paramount. While many series in the Federation universe are boosting its Paramount + platform (the latest, Strange New Worldstells the Enterprise under the command of Pike), the studio does not want to abandon cinema.

He has just hired Toby Haynesdirector of six episodes of the series Star Wars: Andor and also from the episode “USS Callister” of Black Mirrorobviously inspired by Star Trek !

He’s going to direct a brand new movie Star Trek, which will take you back to the origins. At the origins of what? From the Enterprise? From Starfleet? From the Federation? We don’t know more at the moment, except that this prequel will take place decades before the Star Trek by Chris Pine released in 2009. It will take place in this same universe made in JJ Abrams.

It will be at Seth Grahame Smith to find the story and write the screenplay. We owe the writer the fantastic novels Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2009) and Abraham Lincoln, vampire hunter (2010)

It should be noted that this project does not call into question the continuation, also along the way. The project Star Trek 4which is struggling to come to fruition, remains in development, with the studio describing it as the “final chapter” of this saga.
