The Killing Kind on OCS: what should we understand from the ending?

“We also leave this little opening, which suggests that there is perhaps still something unclear lying around…” explains the showrunner.

End-of-year thriller event on OCS, The Killing Kind made subscribers go crazy for six episodes, until the big finale and its reveal. Spoiler alert!

In the ultimate twist, we discover that John Webster is indeed the sociopath that Ingrid Lewis thought he was. She ends up throwing the narcissistic pervert into the sea, left for dead. But that was without counting a final reversal. In the final sequence of The Killing Kind, Ingrid (Emma Appleton) receives a phone call indicating John Webster’s cell phone as the transmitter. As she picks up, the black screen appears. But who is on the other end of the line? We will never know anything about it.

The creator of the legal thriller, Paula Cuddyexplains for Première that it’s just about playing with the viewer:

“It’s a fun little wink, isn’t it? Because in life, things don’t resolve themselves in such a perfect way!”

The showrunner continues and assures that this does not necessarily mean a season 2 of The Killing Kindeven if it suggests: “We give a satisfying, effective ending, because it’s a limited series. But we also leave this little opening, which suggests that there is perhaps still something unclear hanging around… Perhaps Webster . Or maybe someone else! It’s an open ending, a bit like the end of season 1 of Big Little Lies…”

let’s remember that Big Little Lies had a season 2!
