The Kingdom of the Abyss: trailer for the animated event film

An incredible visual experience that comes to us from China.

Presented at the 2023 Annecy Festival, The Kingdom of the Abyss left empty-handed – what do you want, it was the year of Linda wants chicken, crowned with the Cristal for best feature film. The two films are not that far apart, basically: in both cases it is the story of a little girl immersed in a crazy visual and colorful adventure, on the border between mainstream and experimentation. But where Linda wants chicken is a mini provincial adventure, The Kingdom of the Abyss is a maddening odyssey that starts like Spirited Away and ends like… we won’t tell you anything, but the lucky ones who have already seen The Kingdom of the Abyss in 3D came out in a daze, both hypnotized by the visual madness of the whole thing and overwhelmed by emotion. Full success, therefore, for the second feature of Xiapoeng Tian (his first feature, Monkey King: Hero is Backwas presented in Annecy in 2016 but was not released in France), which we will discover in theaters on February 21.
