The M3GAN saga will be released with an erotic thriller

Soulm8te, by Kate Dolan, will follow the relationship between a widower and his “lovebot”.

Following the great success of M3GAN at the box office, in 2022, James Wan is preparing his sequel (as producer), still with Allison Williams and Violet McGraw for June 27, 2025. M3GAN 2.0 will not, however, be the only film developed in this universe, reveals Variety : Blumhouse also intends to extend this horror SF franchise with a new thriller, more erotic this time.

If the robot at the heart of the original film had the body of a little girl, that of Soulm8te will be that of an adult woman. Kate Dolan (You are not my Mother) will film this spin-off for January 2, 2026, after rewriting the script by Rafael Jordan (Salvage Marines) recounting the mourning of a young man who has just lost his wife. Acquiring an android equipped with artificial intelligence to try to help him overcome his grief, he will reprogram this robot. But by wanting to bring him more human sensations, “he will by mistake transform this lovebot incapable of hurting anyone into a murderous soul mate”, continues the synopsis. The director also specifies that Soulm8te will be “in the tradition of 1990s domestic thrillers, but with a more modern, technological twist.”
