The director of The Marvels presents her three heroines as sisters

The Marvels will be the shortest film in MCU history

Isn’t the story in danger of being too rushed? Nia DaCosta is responsible for linking Captain Marvel to the Miss Marvel and WandaVision series with this blockbuster.

It’s official, the next MCU film, The Marvels is the shortest of the franchise’s 32 blockbusters. Directed by Nia DaCostawith Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris And Iman Vellani, it will only last 1h45. Until now, the record was held by The Incredible Hulk And Thor: The Dark World both of which last 1 hour 52 minutes.

In total, only seven Marvel titles do not exceed two hours: The Incredible Hulk (1h52), Thor (1h55), Thor: The Dark World (1h52), Ant-Man (1h57), Doctor Strange (1h55), Ant-Man and the Wasp (1h58) and Thor: Love and Thunder (1h58). On the other hand, the team films bringing together the Avengers are on the contrary the longest: 2h27 for Captain America: Civil War ; 2h30 for Avengers Infinity War and exactly 3 hours for Avengers Endgame which concludes the first cycle.

The huge budget of The Marvels revealed: a new flop in sight for the MCU?

The Marvels tells how Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), and Kamala Khan aka Miss Marvel (Iman Vellani) meet and form a trio to fight a new stellar threat. To spice up their relationship, a mysterious force allows them to exchange their powers. Nick Fury (Samuel Jackson) will obviously be there.
Many questions will have to be answered in 1h45, knowing that the character of Monica Rambeau, the niece of Carol Danvers, was introduced in the series WandaVision and that Miss Marvel also benefited from her own series on Disney+. The film will be released in theaters on November 8, 2023.
