The Monk film reveals its first images and it hasn’t changed

Tony Shalhoub will reprise the role of the famous television investigator in Mr. Monk’s Last Case.

The last time we saw Monk investigate on TV, there was no streaming platform yet! Almost 15 years after its grand finale (Monk leavesin 2009), the cult series will make its return for a film event. Mr. Monk’s Last Case (Mr. Monk’s Last Case) will go live on Friday December 8, 2023 on Peacock across the Atlantic.

“It’s been a dozen years since the world saw a new opus of Monk. The world has changed enormously over these years and Monk 2023 reflects the changing world.”confides the creator, screenwriter and executive producer of Monk, Andy Breckman. He clearly hasn’t changed, judging by the first official photos.

The movie director, Randy Zisksays he is delighted to have “ddirected a film version of Monk, and we’re thrilled that each of our stars are so excited to return. But coming back, we wanted to make a film worthy of our heritage. Mr. Monk’s Last Case is a powerful, moving, funny, heartwarming story that has something to say about the human condition. And it will be both familiar and surprising.”

Tony Shalhoub will return in the title role and in the production, also with Traylor Howard (his assistant Natalie Teeger), Ted Levine (his best friend, and police captain Leland Stottlemeyer), Jason Gray-Stanford (who plays Lt. Randy Disher since the start of the show) and Hector Elizondo (his therapist, Dr. Neven Bell). Also behind it, the team will be made up of the faithful of the series: the creator of the show Andy Breckman will be surrounded by executive producers David Hoberman and Randy Zisk. The first is also responsible for writing the screenplay, and Zisk will direct it.
