The new Harry Potter series should be released in 2026!

The boss of Warner Bros. Discovery has provided an update on Hollywood’s most anticipated TV project.

Officially announced a year ago, to promote the new Max platform (ex-HBO Max), the TV series Harry Potter barely taking shape. But promised, production is moving forward and during its financial update for the fourth quarter of 2023, the boss of the Warner Bros. group. Discovery’s David Zaslav has hinted at a release date for the adaptation:

“We have not hidden our enthusiasm for Harry Potter” Zaslav said (via TVLine).”The last film was made over a dozen years ago. I was in London a few weeks ago with the boss of HBO, Casey (Bloys) and the boss of TV at home, Channing (Dungey). We spent some hands-on time with JK Rowling and her team. Both parties are excited to revive this franchise. Our conversations have been great and we couldn’t be more excited about what lies ahead. We can’t wait to share a decade of new stories with fans around the world on Max. We are aiming for a release in 2026.“

So in about two years, which leaves time to do the casting, a crucial step, before launching the production of the episodes then the filming itself, knowing that everything will have to come together in succession, season after season, to avoid that the child actors at Hogwarts don’t grow up too quickly.

Remember that this will be Harry Potter will be “a faithful adaptation of each of the seven books. Each season will be authentic to the original books and will introduce Harry Potter and his incredible adventures to new audiences around the world…”
