Who will succeed Michael Scott? The job seems impossible and yet, Greg Daniels intends to relaunch the experience The Office. The creator of the US version confirms to Deadline that he is working on a new version of the cult comedy, finished in 2013 after 9 seasons.
No, it won’t be a sequel at Dunder Mifflin, Pennsylvania, nor a remake in the same office. The new series will feature a new workplace, with a completely different cast. Understand a new average American company and its employees. But a company that will actually exist in the same universe as Dunder Mifflin, which means the possibility of doing crossovers, like inviting Dwight for a few crazy episodes…
Greg Daniels is in the process of setting up a pool of writers. It will meet next week to explore ideas around this new iteration which has not yet been definitively decided.
