The Penguin series, with Colin Farrell, returns to filming in New York: the photos are explosive

Shooting has restarted in Brooklyn, after nearly a year of hiatus.

Last spring, the first set photos of the series derived from The Batman, devoted to the character of the Penguin played by Colin Farrell, caused a sensation. Throughout the month of March 2023, photos circulated of the actor in different outfits, climbing into a luxury car or giving orders to his fictional subordinates.

For this role, the actor chose a radical change in appearance, so much so that he had to undergo hours of makeup to fit into the growing, aging costume of this adversary of the Dark Knight. A process that must be repeated for many weeks, since Warner Bros. decided to offer him his own show following the theatrical success of Matt Reeves’ blockbuster, in 2022.

M:I 8, Deadpool 3, The Penguin: Why the writers’ strike impacts filming already in progress

Oswald Cobblepot should be back on the small screen this year: a handful of images from the series have been revealed within the “super-teaser” of Max for the year 2024. But before you release it, you have to finish it first! Because with the writers’ strike that started last summer, then the actors who joined the movement (including Colin himself, by the way), filming had to be interrupted. The project was therefore delayed, but since February 1, the entire team has returned to New York to shoot some shots on location.

After this long break, the Irish actor returns to his mafia costume, with his false nose, his puffy cheeks and his bald head, as well as his thick shirts, his suspenders and his heavy golden rings adorned with precious stones. In other photos, he is also the victim (or culprit?) of an impressive explosion, leaving him covered in soot. At his side, we recognize the actor Craig Walker (The Night belongs to us, Iron Fist…), who plays detective Marcus Wise.

Cristin Milioti, Clancy Brown and Carmen Ejogo are also in the cast of the series The Penguinwhich will certainly be part of Prime Video’s Warner Pass, later this year.

The Batman: Jeffrey Wright didn’t recognize Colin Farrell on the set!
