Rhaenyra Targaryen is not going to let this go! War is declared in season 2 of House of the Dragon. We’ll have to choose sides between Viserys’ eldest daughter and Alicent Hightower’s son. And the confrontation will be bloody, as the widow of the deceased sovereign already knows: “The war will be fought. Many will die. And the winner will eventually ascend the throne“, summarizes Alicent Hightower in the sumptuous trailer for season 2 that HBO has just unveiled, during Comic Con São Paulo, which is being held in Brazil this weekend.

We first see Aegon II Targaryen, the first son of the late King Viserys I Targaryen and his Queen Alicent, his second wife, who took the Iron Throne with loss and commotion. He has been the ruler of the 7 Kingdoms since the end of season 1. But at Dragonstone, Rhaenyra rallies her loved ones to avenge the death of her son, Luke, murdered by Aemon, after a fatal duel between dragons…

Rhaenyra will prepare her dragons for war and Westeros risks being set ablaze, in what George RR Martin called the “Dance of the Dragons”, in his book “Fire & Blood“. Who will emerge victorious from this fratricidal confrontation?

Season 2 of House of the Dragon will have eight episodes. It will be broadcast in summer 2024 on HBO and in France on Prime Video via the Warner pass.
