Daredevil showrunner denounces “scam” behind title of new Disney+ series

The showrunner of Netflix’s Daredevil tackles Marvel over its approach to Daredevil: Born Again

Steven DeKnight says he’s “delighted” that the studio realized its mistake.

After months and months of development, Daredevil: Born Again was put on hiatus to be completely redesigned by Marvel. Head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman have been quietly removed from the project as have the series’ directors, while some previously completed scenes and episodes will be retained with other elements added.

Creator of the series Daredevil from Netflix, which Disney Plus decided to take over and reinvent – without him – for the needs of its new series Daredevil: Born Againhe assures that he is not happy with the misfortunes of his colleagues, but believes that Marvel Studios should have called on real showwrunners from the start to take charge of the series:

“I’m not happy that the series is being abandoned and I have always stated the opposite“, wrote DeKnight on Twitter, responding to certain attacks. “However, I’m definitely glad that they (Marvel Studios) finally realized that you need a real showrunner who is a writer to make a series work.”

Daredevil: Born Again was scheduled for 2024. The series no longer has a release date.
