The Spider-Man Silk series will ultimately not see the light of day

Prime Video has decided to stop development of Silk: Spider Society.

Prime Video prefers to focus on Black. While Nicolas Cage has been made official as the hero of the future series Spider-Man Blackexpected soon on the platform, we learn that Amazon has decided to cut in parallel the other live series derived from the weaver, which was under development.

Silk: Spider Societydedicated to the Marvel superhero Cindy Moon, and written by the ex-showrunner of Walking DeadAngela Kang, has been abandoned, according to Entertainment Weekly, which specifies that the Sony Pictures Television studio is still trying to find another distributor.

Silk was, however, the first live series presented by Sony and was supposed to pave the way for a multitude of spin-offs.

Silk, real name Cindy Moon, is a classmate of Peter Parker. She was first introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man #1 comics in 2014. Like Parker, she was bitten by a radioactive spider, giving her the ability to move at incredible speeds, weave canvases with your fingertips and to be gifted with a Spider-Sense known as Silk Sense. Cindy Moon has already appeared in the cinema in the films Spider-Man: Homecoming and briefly in Avengers: Infinity War. The character was played in these films by Tiffany Espensen. No casting had yet been announced.
