The Wheel of Time: everything we know about season 3 already ordered

“In this season 3, we will open up the field of possibilities” star Rosamund Pike already tells us.

Moraine will be back to spin The Wheel of Timein a season 3. If the finale of season 2 was broadcast this week on Prime Video, season 3 has already been ordered by the streamer, in July 2022, to allow time to to prepare for production.

When will this season 3 of The Road of Time ?

No official date yet, but Amazon Studio has anticipated to allow less time to pass between two seasons. Filming was underway this summer in the Czech Republic and, like most productions filmed in Europe, was not delayed by the Hollywood strike. This could mean a release within a year, around late summer 2024.

Since season 2 covered the second and third books in Robert Jordan’s book series, showrunner Rafe Judkins confirmed that the sequel would pick up with the fourth book, The Shadow Risingand would possibly go beyond.

“I’m really excited to be able to do the third season of The Wheel of Time. The Shadow Rising – which is actually the fourth novel in the Wheel of Time saga, by Robert Jordan – has always been my favorite book in the saga, so being able to adapt it for television is a great honor. It’s actually something I’ve been working on since I first introduced the show years ago…”

He then provided more details on the networks, specifying that he hopes that the series gains maturity like the books and speaks of a season 3 “eeven more sophisticated, rich and deep.”

Who will be in the cast of season 3 of The Road of Time ?

At a minimum, we will find the star of the show, Rosamund Pikewho confided to Première recently: “With the third season, we are opening up the field of possibilities. We are currently filming an episode which is truly avant-garde, almost psychedelic. We have the possibility of pushing the cursor further and further thanks to the support of the studio. I think we’re making a series that I hope will be watched 20 years from now. The goal is not just to reach our times, but to make something timeless.”
