Riding the wave of meetings, rebootand others sequelswhich bring joy to fans but also to the (financial) joy of the studios, Disney has formalized the return of Wizards of Waverly Place on the small screen.

Broadcast on Disney Channel from 2007 to 2013, the sitcom (which also had two films, one in 2009 and the other in 2013) was one of the channel's successes that helped reveal today's talents today (we think of Zendaya In Shake it Up, Miley Cyrus In Hannah Montana, Demi Lovato In Sonny…).

Besides, Selena Gomezwho has since established herself on the Hollywood scene (spring breakers, The Dead Don't Die, A rainy day in New York, Only Murders in the Building) will resume his role during the pilot's time alongside his former partners, David Henrie (which we also saw in How I Met Your Mother), David DeLuise And Maria Canals Barrera.

THE sequel will also introduce new faces with a plot centered on the mentor/apprentice relationship between Justin Russo (David Henrie), who gave up his powers to live a normal life with his wife (Mimi Gianopulos) and his sons (Max Matenko And Alkaio Thiele) and Billy (Janice LeAnn Brown), young witch whom he takes under his wing.

Only Murders in the Building leaves New York for season 4

Good news for millennials in need of magic, this new series has officially been ordered by the parent company, and its filming will begin next month. Its release is scheduled for fall 2024.

It is planned that the revival will be broadcast as at the time on Disney Channel, but also on Disney +, a platform on which we can always (re)discover The Wizards of Waverly Place.
