There is a teaching method that thrives in public schools and has achieved 100% success in the Baccalaureate for 5 years.

A class in a suburban high school implements a collective teaching method. For five years, she has managed to obtain 100% success in the baccalaureate thanks to an alliance between students, their parents and teachers.

The main teachers, Jérémie Fontanieu and David Benoît, supervise the progress of their students during a school year, the final stretch before the baccalaureate. The method allows high school graduates to spread their wings: better grades, self-confidence… students consider their career choices with more freedom.

At the start of our careers, my colleague and I were suffering like the vast majority of teachers in France: struggling with students who are not naughty but who lack good will and are increasingly dependent on screens, a on the other hand, and with society's view of our profession and educational policies that do not help us at all, we had the feeling of suffering and being condemned to helplessness. Like all teachers, we improvised educationally in order to resist the resignation that threatened us: from these improvisations was born the method “reconciliations”, explains Jeremy Fontanieu in the press kit.

Here is the trailer for the documentary:

The film immortalizes the anguish of the high school graduates, their doubts, their dreams, their developments… They had the opportunity to exorcise their emotions by turning on the camera.

During this 2019/2020 school year during which the filming took place, our priority David and I was to do our work as teachers and the film had only secondary importance: the urgency was for the students to get started work and that they gradually advance towards the difficult objective of 100% success. Simply, the students had the option of taking the camera and a tripod and locking themselves in an adjacent room to record a logbook.“, specifies the director.

The world is theirs will be released in theaters on March 20.
