This French series that you haven’t seen has just been crowned at the Emmy Awards!

Former porn actress Ovidie was crowned yesterday in the Best International Short Series category.

Released in summer 2022 in France on Canal +, the series Very ordinary people has just received the ultimate small screen award. It was crowned last night for Best Short Series at the International Emmy Awards, which were held in New York.

A consecration for Ovidiewho wrote and directed this Création Décalée Canal+, produced by Marc Berdugo and composed of 8 episodes, lasting from 9 to 17 minutes.

This series about sex and a certain desire for freedom tells “Romain, 18 years old, sociology student. With her best friend, Isaure, they are children of suburban France in the 90s who dream of remaking the world; but they do not have the same way of expressing their radicalism. If Isaure is attracted by the clandestineness of the political groups she frequents at university, Romain, on the contrary, decides to expose himself to the light of the porn film sets on which he imagines a wind of freedom is blowing. In rebellion against his original environment, imprisoned in a toxic romantic relationship with a woman who has total control over his life, he thinks he will find a path to emancipation in the pornographic adventure…

The cast includes Jérémy Gillet, Sophie-Marie Larrouy, Raïka Hazanavicius, Pablo Cobo, Arthur Dupont, Fadily Camara, Andréa Bescond, Agathe Bonitzer, Anne Benoit, Mathieu Lescop and Romane Bohringer.

This is the first time that a French program has been crowned in this (recent) category of short series. On the other hand, Gears, The Revanants Or Ten percent have already been crowned at the International Emmys in the past.

Canal Plus took the opportunity to announce that filming for season 2 had just ended. It will be broadcast in 2024.
