Tobey Maguire rediscovered the taste for acting thanks to Spider Man: No Way Home

“Working with Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland was truly a rich and special experience on every level,” the actor explained.

In 2021, Spider-Man: No Way Home brought together the three interpreters of the spider-man on the same screen. Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield And Tom Holland then broke world box office records (with nearly two billion dollars in revenue). In France, the trio notably attracted more than 7 million people to cinemas.

Two and a half years later, the actor, who hung up his superhero costume in 2007 with Spider-Man 3 (directed by Sam Raimi), looks back on this unprecedented shoot for him and the franchise. “To be with talented and creative people to play together is a big yes”, can we read in particular in the pages of the book The Spider-Man: No Way Home – The Art of the Moviebroadcast by The Direct.

“Working with Andrew (Garfield) and Tom (Holland) was very valuable, it was truly a rich and special experience on every level. It reinvigorated my interest in the game. I felt a real brotherhood, and that was what we and our characters were looking for. It was very stimulating to have this dynamic, to feel a real connection with these guys, and to have fun”he added.

Earlier this year, Maguire also said he wanted to play Spider-Man again if the opportunity arises again. “I love these films, I am attached to the three different stories, he continues. If these people call me to ask: ‘Could you come back tonight, hang in the air and have fun?’ or : ‘Would you be ready to make this film? To read this scene or to do something related to Spider-Man?’ I will answer : ‘Yes !’ Why wouldn’t I want to do it?“, he explained in a making-of book of No Way Home published by Marvel.

Who knows, maybe he will appear in Spider-Man 4teased by Kevin Peige, the boss of Marvel. So far, very little information has circulated about this sequel to Sam Raimi’s trilogy. “There are things in the works. We don’t know yet if it will bear fruit, but for now it looks good. You have to be patient”explained Tom Holland in particular last June.
