True Detective: Season 4 actress finds Nic Pizzolatto’s reaction “shameful”

Kali Reis responds to attacks from the series creator after the release of the final season.

On February 18, America discovered the finale of True Detective: Night Country. HBO production carried by the female tandem Jodie FosterKali Reisthis fourth part of the anthology detective series looks at the case of the mysterious disappearance of eight men, employees of a research station in Alaska.

If the critical and public success of these six episodes is no longer in doubt, one voice has been raised to attack the season: Nick Pizzolatto, the creator of the original series. Left out of the production of the fourth season, the one who had to give way to Issa Lopez (and being satisfied with the title of executive producer) multiplies the incendiary releases. After a few disdainful remarks in Instagram comments now deleted, the producer had fun relaying the bad feedback from the last episode in his stories. The message is clear.

True Detective creator tackles season 4: “It’s not my fault!”

Enough to provoke the indignation of Kali Reis, the ex-boxer playing the role of Evangeline Navarro, a detective of indigenous origin. It was via her X account (the former Twitter) that the actress responded to a post reporting Pizzolatto’s attitude: “It’s a damn shame… But I guess ‘if you don’t have anything good to share, shit on others’ is the new wave to ride lol”reports Variety.

Backlash for Nic Pizzolatto, who already had to confront an unpleasant reality: for the public and the critics, season 4 of True Detective is perhaps the best since season 1.

The six episodes of True Detective: Night Country are available in France via the Prime Video Warner Pass.
