Valérie Lemercier will be the president of the 2024 Césars

This will be a first for the actress, who has been mistress of ceremonies three times.

After her consecration in 2022, where she won the Caesar for best actress for Aline, Valérie Lemercier was chosen by the Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques to chair the 49th Caesar Ceremony, which will be held on February 23 in Paris, in the Olympia hall. She will succeed Tahar Rahim, who officiated last year.

Valérie Lemercier thus continues her long history with the Césars. She has been mistress of ceremonies three times, notably in 2007 when she caused a sensation by performing the cult dance of Rabbi Jacob. In 1994, she won the César for Best Supporting Actress for Visitorsthen again in 2007 for Orchestra Chairs.

In addition, the Academy unveiled a few days ago the list of 32 2024 revelations. These 16 actresses and 16 actors are competing for the Césars for best female and male revelation (which will no longer be called César for most promising actor). They will be brought together in the traditional short film produced this year by photographer Malick Bodian. A work which will be revealed on January 15 during the Evening of Revelations.
