We know more about the Zorro series with Jean Dujardin (photos)

The OSS 117 performer has just completed filming in Spain, and has posted some filming photos for the occasion.

Paramount+ and France Télévisions have just announced a partnership around series Zorro with Jean Dujardin, Audrey Dana, Salvatore Ficarra, André Dussollier, Eric Elmosnino and Grégory Gadebois.

Stating that it was a non-definitive title, the two production companies revealed that the series “will be launched later this year on Paramount+ before being broadcast on France Télévisions.” It will include 8 episodes of around forty minutes.

This announcement coincides with the end of filming, revealed by Jean Dujardin four days ago on his Instagram account. The actor published several photos from the set, taken by photographer Christophe Brachet. We share some below, along with the rest of the first info on this show.

Zorro is a series created by Benjamin Charbit (Under Control, Gagarin, Notre Dame, The Savages, In Freedom) and Noé Debré (Parliament, Stillwater, Dheepan). It is therefore co-produced by France Télévisions and Paramount+, but also Le Collectif 64 (Marc Dujardin) and Bien Sûr Productions (Julien Seul). Its eight episodes were written by Benjamin Charbit, Noé Debré and Emmanuel Poulain-Arnaud (The test), the series is directed by Jean-Baptiste Saurel (Parallels) and Emilie Noblet (Bis Repetita, Parliament, The 7 Lives of Léa).

In addition to confirming all this information, the team reveals its official synopsis.

“In 1821, Don Diego de la Vega became mayor of his beloved city of Los Angeles, which he intended to make prosperous. However, the municipality was faced with financial problems due to the greed of a man of local affairs, Don Emmanuel, in the face of whom the mayor's powers prove insufficient to combat injustice. Diego has not called on his double Zorro for 20 years. But in the name of the general interest, he has not no other choice but to bring out his mask and his sword. Very quickly, Diego will encounter difficulties reconciling his dual identity as Zorro and mayor, which puts a strain on his marriage to Gabriella, who is unaware of his secret. Diego Will he be able to save his marriage and his sanity amidst the chaos?”

Finally, “the series will be available on Paramount+ in France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany and LATAM. France tv distribution manages sales for all other territories”specifies the official press release.
