When will the sequel to Silver and Blood be broadcast on Canal +?

The first part of Xavier Giannoli’s series on the carbon tax scam ended this evening.

Of money and bloodthe series by Xavier Giannoli retracing (in a fictionalized way) the carbon tax scam affair, is a mini-series in twelve episodes, but which has the particularity of being shown in two stages by its broadcaster, Canal +. Part 1 ends tonight after six episodes, a month after it began broadcast. And we will have to wait until January to see part 2 – six new episodes which will retrace the end of the investigation led by magistrate Simon Weynachter (Vincent Lindon) into “the scam of the century”.

Originally, Of money and blood had been envisaged as a series of eight episodes, but the material that Xavier Giannoli was brewing was so dense and romantic that it ultimately called for more detailed development:

We first considered eight episodes because it seemed like the right format.explained the filmmaker. But as the characters developed, as the writing process lasted a very long time, we realized that we could do longer. I had thought for a moment that I could direct, like Olivier Assayas with Carlos, episodes longer than others. Eventually it all came down to 52 minute episodes.”

Beyond the choice of broadcaster, is there a logic to this division into two parts? We can find it in the very title of the series, which in its own way evokes a diptych: the first six episodes will focus on crimes.silver” committed by Fitous (Ramzy Bedia) and his accomplices. The second part, logically, will focus on crimes.of blood”. And will dive even deeper into the madness of this affair.
