Where is Tyler Rake 3? Netflix takes stock
“So we are waiting for the script and working hard…”
Six months after the release of the second part, when will we see Tyler Rake 3 on Netflix?
Not right away, a priori. Scott Stuber, president of Netflix Films, provides an update in Collider on the production of‘Extract 3announced last June.
He suggests that the script is having difficulty coming together, but that the idea is to bring back Idris Elba in front of Chris Hemsworth.
“You know, you want to find the right idea. I think the second installment was good because it was emotional and complex. It reminds me a little of the time when I worked on the Bourne films. Tony Gilroy did a great work by succeeding in making an even richer sequel, activated by the death of the character of Franka (Potente). Tyler Rake 2 had the same kind of context, to justify the motivation of Chris (Hemsworth). Bringing Idris (Elba) into the franchise was an interesting way to evolve it. So we’re waiting for the right script and working hard. But we want Idris Elba to come back. Both guys are wonderful in this.”
Directed by Sam Hargrave and written by Joe Russo, Tyler Rake is one of Netflix’s big cinema successes, since the first film in 2020.
Tyler Rake 2 was filmed in spring 2022, for release the following year. This implies that if the film Tyler Rake 3 could start filming next year, it would be released in 2025, on Netflix.
