Will Smith announces I Am Legend 2: “We are very close!”
Will Smith confirms that this sequel will be based on the alternate ending, found in the 2007 DVD.
A year ago, we were “still far”. Obviously, they have made good progress! Will Smith took stock of the project I am Legend 2 currently in pre-production, including Michael B.Jordan implied. On the sidelines of a festival in Saudi Arabia (via Variety), the actor promises that the sequel to the 2007 post-apocalyptic film does indeed have a real chance of coming to fruition:
“I have a meeting with Michael B. Jordan this weekend! We are very close to the goal, the script has just arrived!
At the same time, he confirms that this second film will be based on the alternative ending of I’m a legendthe one we see in the DVD bonuses, in which his character doesn’t die!
“It’s true… You have to be a real fan of I Am Legend to know that, but in the first version, the one released in cinemas, my character dies. However, on the DVD, there is an alternative ending , in which my character survives. For I Am Legend 2, we’re going to take it from there, from the mythology of the DVD version. I can’t tell you anything more, but Michael B. Jordan will be involved.”
I am Legend 2 should therefore be done well. However, no date has yet been announced.
