Robert Eggers talks about the complicated filming of Nosferatu

What he (Robert Eggers) done is getting better and better, he expresses himself better. He is so clear when he works. The film will be released in December 2024, a long time from now. I’m trying to be optimistic, I think the studio must feel powerful, they have a long margin left, I’m very excited. I saw some footage while we were filming and I can honestly say it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen before, visually. The rendering, the way of filming, was extraordinary.

William Dafoe also details that he will play “a sort of Van Helsing, but not exactly. He is both authentic to this character but at the same time somewhat invented. I don’t know what else to say!”

The actor then decides to divert attention by addressing the quality of the costumes:

Having seen Lily Rose Depp in some of her costumes, and those of other actors like Ralph Ineson or Nick Hoult, it’s like they came out of a period painting. The result is magnificent. I haven’t seen the final cut, I’m going to the re-recording sessions soon, I can’t wait to see.

Waiting for, William Dafoe will soon be showing in Poor Creatures. The incarnation of Dr. Baxter required 6 hours of makeup to install the facial prosthetics. The film will be released on January 17, 2024 in theaters.
