Winston Zeddemore will have an important role in the new Ghostbusters

The Ice Menace promises to put the spotlight on the member of the group played by Ernie Hudson.

One of the missions of the new episode of the franchise Ghostbusterss will be to highlight a member of the original Ghostbusters gang: Winston Zeddemore. In the first draft of the script, he was supposed to be part of the team from the start in the first film released in 1984, but was ultimately relegated to a bit of a piece, joining the Ghostbusters along the way after responding to an offer of employment.

The end of Ghostbusters: Legacy (available on FirstMax) already hinted at the importance of Winston in a possible sequel. We see him reopening the barracks and having the famous Ecto-1 renovated. Logically, he will finally have a major role in Ghostbusters: The Ice Menace. Ernie HudsonWinston’s interpreter, explains to Empire:

“Winston is a rich man now, and he funds research into new technology and the science behind ghost hunting. When the world is threatened… Who are you going to call? He puts the costume back on with the rest of the team“.

Dan Aykroyd, who will be back in the shoes of Ray Stantz, also talks about this new distribution of roles. “Ray retired. He had health problems, insurance problems. Winston is the boss now and he decides that Ray should step back from ghost hunting and just be an advisor. Ray doesn’t like that. Gozer is gone, but an equally terrible threat emerges from Queens and Ray wants to drive the Cadillac“.
