Without Ever Knowing Us: Fantastic New Trailer Starring Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott

Andrew Haigh went to dig into the house where he grew up to soak up this nostalgic energy.

The muffled lights illuminate the only occupied apartment in the building, Adam’s (Andrew Scott). The London night offers its share of curiosity: the suspended moment of her meeting with Harry (Paul Mescal). In the midst of a budding closeness, Adam returns to his childhood home in the suburbs to reconnect with his memories. The young man makes a curious discovery: his parents are there, except that they are supposed to have disappeared more than 30 years ago.

After a first trailer already effective, this one presents the concept even more. The film combines romanticism and fantasy in an intimate project sinceAndrew Haigh got involved in the process. Some scenes were filmed in the home where the filmmaker grew up:

“When I was thinking about a house where the protagonist spent his childhood, I thought about mine, and as we were getting ready to shoot, I returned to my first neighborhood, on the outskirts of Croydon. I didn’t I haven’t been back for forty years.”, explained Andrew Haigh.

Andrew Haigh has already invoked the theme of homosexuality, notably in Weekend (2012), but is best known for having been at the helm of the production of the series Looking. The filmmaker then had the opportunity to direct large-scale projects, notably by supervising Charlotte Rampling And Tom Courtenay In 45 years old (2015), within a poignant romance.

Without ever knowing us will be released in theaters on February 14, 2024.
