The brilliant 2015 historical series picks up the story of Henry VIII and Cromwell where it left off.

Crowned best mini-series at the Golden Globes in 2016, the saga Wolf Hall will return to our screens. Season 1, broadcast in 2015 on the BBC and in France on Arte (under the title In the shadow of the Tudors) covered the first two volumes of Hilary Mantel’s literary saga. A trilogy that season 2 of Wolf Hall will complete, by bringing to the screen The Mirror and the Light (published in 2020).

Filming will begin soon, announces the BBC, which reveals that, ten years later, Mark Rylance will reprise his role as Thomas Cromwell, while Damian LewisJonathan Pryce, Kate Phillips and Lilit Lesser are also confirmed, who respectively play King Henry VIII, Cardinal Wolsey, Henry VIII’s third wife Jane Seymour, and Princess Mary (Henry’s daughter and first wife Catherine d ‘Aragon).

Wolf Hall will be produced again by Peter Kosminskyand adapted by Peter Straughan (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy).
