Yorgos Lanthimos and Emma Stone, it continues: a 4th film announced!

Bugonia will be the adaptation of a funny Korean thriller and the fourth collaboration of the filmmaker and the actress after The Favorite, Poor Creatures and Kinds of Kindness.

Previously in Cannes… After the enormous success of Poor Creatures at the Oscars, Yorgos Lanthimos landed on the Croisette with Emma Stone on his arm, to present Kinds of Kindness, a new collaboration between the Greek filmmaker and the American actress. An artistic fusion which had even led Emma Stone to say, during the press conference, that Lanthimos was his “muse”…

Their complicity will continue with a next project, entitled Bugonia. For the fourth time in a row (and the third time in two years), the director will film Emma Stone in a funny thriller, which will also see a return to the cast Jesse Plemonsalready showing in Kinds of Kindness. It will be a feature film in three chapters, presented Friday at the Cannes Film Festival.

Bugonia follows two conspiracy-obsessed young men who kidnap the powerful CEO of a major corporation, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth. The script is signed Will Tracyscreenwriter of Succession and the movie The Menu.

Bugonia is actually based on the 2003 Korean film “Save the Green Planet” and Ari Aster previously attempted to make an English-language adaptation of it. He will be a producer here.
