Zack Snyder has already written a 450-page cobblestone for the sequel to Rebel Moon on Netflix

The director has signed for two feature films with the platform, but does not intend to stop there.

The first movie Rebel Moon hasn’t even been released yet that its director has already planned a (very) long sequel for this new franchise. Zack Snyder (man of steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) signed on for two big-budget films with netflix. But obviously, he was even more ambitious than that.

“When I pitched the project to Netflix, they wanted to know what scale it could have: ‘How many movies?’ I said to myself ‘ok, if we want to do it big, we have to go all the way’he explained to the magazine Empire.

It did not take more than this discussion for the director to project himself a little more. In his tracks, he planned absolutely everything, and crafted a 450-page bible detailing all the possible endings, as well as potential side stories afterwards. Rebel Moon. In particular, a series could well focus on the tyrannical regent Balisarius.

Rebel Moon tells the story of a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy, which finds itself threatened by the armies of Balisarius. A young woman with a mysterious past is then tasked with looking for warriors on neighboring planets, and helping them to defend themselves there.

This first film at 166 million dollars was first proposed to LucasFilm. It should even have been a spin-off Star Wars which would have taken place after episode IV: Return of the Jedi. Finally, it will be broadcast on Netflix, on December 22, 2023.

In particular, we will find Ray Fisher (who has already worked with the director on Justice League), Jena Malone (Sucker Punch), Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy), Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy), Doona Bae (Sense8), And Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: Secret Service).
