Zendaya impatiently awaits Dune 3: “If Denis calls me, I’ll say yes”

Chani, the daughter of Stilgar (Javier Bardem), is eager to continue the adventure. But Denis Villeneuve would like to shoot another film before The Messiah of Dune.

The countdown begins ! After a release delay due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, Dune: Part Two is coming very soon to slap us on the big screen. Gathered for a joint interview, the prestigious casting of the second part was questioned by the media Fandango. Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Austin Butler And Florence Pugh therefore presented their character and their development in more detail, as well as their experience of filming.

When the subject of a third opus, adapted from the novel Dune: Messiahwas addressed, Zendaya did not hesitate for a single second: “If we are for it? Of course”. The actress plays the role of Chani, the daughter of Stilgar (Javier Bardem) the leader of the Fremen. It is about the people of the sands welcoming Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and her mother Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) after the assassination of his father Leto (Oscar Isaac) in the first film. Chani is introduced in Paul’s visions, which he mistakes for dreams, but will have a much more central role in Part 2.

Excluded – “Dune 2 is a monster, a much more muscular film”

“Every time Denis calls, it’s a yes for meadds Zendaya, I can’t wait to see what happens”. Denis Villeneuve previously confirmed script development for a third film Duneproject still too premature for any further information. Zendaya curbs his ardor by remembering his discovery of Messiah while she was filming the first film: “I started Messiah and I was like: ‘Wow, I just shot the first movie.’ So let me go back to the first movie.’”

Even if this sequel project still requires a lot of work, the star has no reservations about the skills of Denis Villeneuve : “It’s so much to take into account, but there are no better hands, with as much love and passion, than Denis’sshe assures. I want to see… It’s just anticipation. When he’s ready. He’s a perfectionist in every way and doesn’t want to share things until they’re ready. So I respect his choice and I wait until he is ready”, concludes Zendaya.

Still, the director will be very busy in the coming months. Before staging a potential third part of Dunehe would like shoot another film. The one he has been talking about for several years about Cleopatra? His adaptation of Meeting with Rama?He also shared his dream of make a James Bond.
