Zendaya in the naughty (and tennis) trailer for Challengers

Initially planned for Prime Video, Luca Guadagnino’s new film finally has a release date in France. It will be next spring.

It was supposed to be a hit for Prime Video in France, at the end of 2023. But change of strategy on Amazon’s side: Challengers will be entitled to a release in cinemas in France. Distributed by Warner Bros., the new film from Luca Guadagnino (Call me by your Name) is announced today with an official trailer (below), which reveals the release date: it will be April 24 in France, two days before the release in the USA.

After Bones & Allwhich earned him the Silver Lion for best director in Venice, the Italian filmmaker changes the atmosphere with Challengersa sultry love story in the world of tennis, centered around Zendaya.

The star ofEuphoria will play Tashi Duncan, a young yellow ball prodigy, who has everything to dominate the circuit. One evening, she will be seduced by two other young players, who will fight for her. Tashi will have to choose but above all, she will have to suffer a serious injury, which will stop her career…
